Our favourite remote first aid handbook.   Small enough to take out in your pack.  Steele does a remarkable job in presenting the basic information in simple terms.  Should you require further information this is available at the end of each section.  Highly recommended.

Slightly more accessible and more current than "Medicine for Mountaineering" and also covering a wider range of 'expedition' scenarios this is our preferred Advanced or Expedition text.   2nd Edition updated and revised published in 2003.

A core text for Advanced Rescue courses this takes a much more urban approach to pre-hospital care.

Whilst this book is in many ways a core-text for remote first aid it must be remembered that as a text book it does present some barriers which many may find intimidating.  The book provides detailed information an practically all aspects   of remote medicine but would be more suited as a reference manual at home or at base camp rather than a manual that can be relied upon for rapid referencing.

An ambitious book which provides one of the most current and comprehensive guides for all aspects of mountaineering from Bouldering to Big Wall Climbing and High Atitide expeditions.

A thorough up-to-date comprehensive guide to Sea Kayaking written by Nige Robbinson; former Sea Kayaking World Champion and BCU Coaching Development Officer along with Level 3 Sea Kayak coach Alun Richardson.
