Expedition First Aid - Borneo
August 2012
Based primarily in the jungle environment of Borneo, this in-depth course provides comprehensive First Aid and Medical training ideally suited to expedition members or medics looking to expand their skills in the remote environment.
Working closely with an in-country team we are able to deliver this unique course with exclusive access to a secluded region of one of Sabah's National Parks of primary jungle. The course will be delivered in chalet accommodation within the jungle and culminates in a trek with overnight hammock-camp.
Candidates should come with some basic First Aid training and having read the pre-course material. This ensures everyone is up to a minimum standard to avoid spending too much time on the basics while in this
remarkable location.
Candidates should also come prepared for an expedition: We have no control on the weather or wildlife! We will do our best to make your time as enjoyable, educational and challenging as possible. Sometimes comfortable, sometimes not: The reason for delivering this course in the Jungle environment is to get out of the classroom and to play out realistic scenarios in a realistic setting and to experience how new skills can be applied in challenging situations.
Practical scenarios and exercise will be reinforced by evening lectures in the more comfortable surroundings of the chalets...with a welcome mug of coffee and dry socks.
