Rope Rescue Technician
This 5 day course covers the concepts and techniques required by teams
undertaking technical rope rescues.
The course is designed to meet the requirements for the technician level NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents and the NFPA 1006 Standard for Rescue Technician – Rope Rescue at Levels 1 &2.
The course satisfies criteria of BS 7985:2009 "Code of practice for the use of rope access methods for industrial purposes", BS 8454:2006 "Code of practice for the delivery of training and education for work at height and rescue" as well as Advisory Committee for Work at Height Training Awareness Syllabus.
A building block approach is used throughout the course so that students can progress from key concepts through to rigging and operating full systems. One day of the course is allocated to highline rope systems.

Course pre-requisites
Although there are no formal pre-requisites to attend the course, in order to gain the most from the input we recommend students should have some prior experience of working with ropes.
